Most teams start with a contact list that lives in Excel, Google Sheets, or an exported CSV from a previous tool. Exphora's import wizard turns that file into a clean, deduplicated CRM in minutes — and immediately enriches the contacts with public company data.
Before you import
- Save your file as .csv or .xlsx (max 50,000 rows per file).
- Make sure the first row is a header — column names like "Email", "First Name", "Company".
- Email is the only required column. Everything else is optional.
- Phone numbers in international format (+1 555 …) get the cleanest enrichment results.
Importing the file
- 1
Open Contacts → Import
From the CRM sidebar, click Contacts, then the Import button in the top right. Drop your CSV or Excel file onto the upload area.
- 2
Map your columns
Exphora auto-detects common headers (Email, Name, Company, Phone, Title). Confirm the mapping and tweak any column that did not match. Unmapped columns can be dropped or stored as custom fields.
- 3
Pick a dedup rule
Choose how to handle duplicates: Skip if email already exists, Update existing record, or Create as new. Email is the default match key; you can also match by phone or company + name.
- 4
Preview and confirm
Exphora shows a preview of the first 25 rows mapped to fields. Hit Import to start the job — large files import in the background and you can keep working.
- 5
Review enrichment
Once import finishes, AI enrichment auto-runs on the new contacts. Open Contacts → Recently Imported to see filled-in company size, industry, location, and likely role data.
