How to Set Booth Dimensions (Imperial vs Metric)

April 30, 2026 3 min read3 steps

Trade-show floors are sold in either feet (US, Canada, parts of Asia) or meters (Europe, the UK, Latin America, the Middle East). Exphora supports both natively, with one-click switching and zero rounding errors.

Common booth sizes

Switching units

  1. 1

    Open the unit toggle

In the top toolbar, click the unit pill (m / ft). It expands into a switch.

  2. 2

    Pick metric or imperial

Choose meters or feet. The grid, dimension labels, and inspector fields update across the whole scene.

  3. 3

    Set the booth dimensions

Open Booth → Floor and enter width and depth. Defaults are 6×6 m or 20×20 ft. Set ceiling height (default 3 m / 10 ft) at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

People also ask

Does switching units round my dimensions?
No. Exphora stores every dimension at full precision internally and only rounds for display. Switching units is lossless.
Can I mix units inside a single booth?
No — the whole project uses one unit at a time. You can switch back and forth at any point without losing data.
How do I create an L-shaped or U-shaped booth?
Open Booth → Floor → Custom Shape. You can draw a polygon directly on the canvas, or pick an L / U / T preset and resize it.
What is the default ceiling height?
3 m (≈10 ft). Most venues allow up to 3.5–4 m for a standard booth and higher for islands. Check your show's floor-plan rules.
Can I lock dimensions to specific module sizes (e.g. 1 m or 1 ft)?
Yes. In the grid settings, set snap to 0.5 m, 1 m, 6 in, 1 ft, or any custom value.
